RELO Network Launches Listing Exchange

The RELOŽ network has launched a new initiative that allows RELOŽ member real estate companies to offer national home search capabilities on their web sites using an innovative technology. Known as the RELOŽ Universal Listing Exchange (R.U.L.E.), the program features a centralized database of RELOŽ member listings and currently includes 100,000 homes from across the country, with additional properties begin added daily. Unlike a listing aggregator, R.U.L.E is not a stand-alone Web site but becomes a search engine and pages for individual company web sites. According to R.U.L.E. Executive Director Nina Koridek, this format makes it a powerful tool for participating companies. "The RELOŽ national database can only be accessed by clicking on a RELOŽ National Search button located on individual RELOŽ member company web sites. If a customer wants further information on a specific property or destination city, the consumer inquiry stays within that company"s site and control, allowing that company to develop the lead for outbound referral, local listing and ancillary products like mortgage, insurance and home services." Koridek said. Benefits for participating companies are numerous, as noted by Koridek: "Having a National Search function on a web site makes it more compelling to the customer, driving more traffic to the site. It also allows the company to have greater referral capture for the relocation and second-home market and can be an excellent listing tool. When a buyer knows their home listing will be viewed on leading web sites throughout the country, it can be very persuasive. This program helps ensure conversion of potentially lucrative web inquiries by putting lead management in the hands of salaried company staff who can "scrub" and nurture those leads before involving associates." By becoming a national, as well as local, real estate resource, RELOŽ member companies will further strengthen their position in the marketplace. Currently, RELOŽ members produce over $245 billion in sales annually and rank either #1 or #2 in over two-thirds of the nation"s top 80 major metropolitan markets. According to RELOŽ President/CEO Pam O"Connor, the R.U.L.E. program provides a platform for leading independent companies to capture an even greater market share. "The potential of this program is vast, as it allows the top independent companies to come together to leverage their collective power and quality of service," O"Connor said. The success of the program lies in the belief that people prefer to turn to a name they know and trust when they begin their home search and that they welcome having that trusted advocate monitor the selection and service delivery of a broker in the destination area. Studies show that a majority of buyers search properties online before selecting an associate, so R.U.L.E. allows RELOŽ brokers to establish a relationship early in the sales cycle and, ideally, to capture not only more customers but also more services for each customer. Over 50 member firms have already committed to participate in the first two weeks of the roll-out, including: Allen Tate Company, Amelia Bullock Realtors, Arvida Realty Services, Crye-Leike, Inc., Daniel Gale Agency, DeWolfe, Ebby Halliday Realtors, First Team Real Estate, Greenridge Realty, Harry Norman Realtors, HER Realtors, Latter & Blum, Lyon and Associates, Michael Saunders & Company, Patterson Schwartz, Real Estate One, Realty One, Shorewest Realtors, Sibcy Cline, Starck & Company, The Keyes Company, The Vaughan Company and Watson Realty. RELOŽ is a global network with coverage in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe and India. In the U.S., RELOŽ is the country"s largest network of nearly 800 independent real estate firms specializing in relocation. RELOŽ members produced over $245 billion in sales in 2000 and rank either #1 or #2 in over two-thirds of the nation"s top 80 major metropolitan markets. RELO"s member firms are widely recognized as the premier providers of quality relocation and affinity services.
