Vail, Beaver Creek, Colorado Homebuyers Cautious, But Thawing

Local Realtors promote that the Vail-Beaver Creek areas are as much fun in the summer as they are in the winter, making the area a great place to visit or live. "Mountain resort, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, fly fishing, golf, tennis, white water rafting, Bravo music festival, hot air balloon rides," lists Realtor Sandi Kinsley. "Summer flights land at Eagle airport! It will be easy to get to the Vail Valley this summer with direct daily flights on American Airlines. The Dallas-Fort Worth hub will connect travelers to the Eagle County Regional Airport from 28 cities in the US including Boston, New York, Orlando,Miami,Cleveland, Chicago, Philadelphia & Atlanta. Come play in The Rockies! The summers are fabulous!" Says Realtor Jim Green, "Now that the Iraqi conflict is behind us, buyer confidence seems to be increasing. The number of transactions is also increasing... all of a sudden! Deals are still being made, but buyers are much more cautious than in the late 90"s. Put simply, nice properties that are well-priced sell quickly, while the "less nice" and/or over-priced properties seem to languish." He predicts, "I suspect there will be some bargains this summer." Realtor James F. Sporrer says, "Vail and Beaver Creek and several nearby towns have some of the best skiing in the U.S. plus a community atmosphere." He advises, "Join the momentum to buy Vail Valley property at the increasing prices with the lowest interest rates. With starting prices so low don"t pass up this opportunity to own a vacation home, second home, investment property or your first home in the Vail Valley." In working with branch managers over the years I have discovered one commonality: a feeling of discomfort or weakness in coaching agents. New agents are typically easy to coach. Teach them the contracts, schedule them an open house, and have them work their sphere of influence amongst other rather simple activities to get them up and running. But bring on the top-producer and you could experience a shut-down.

Home Automation: Quality Of Life Inside The Home
In talking with REALTORS® about home automation at the recent NAR Convention in San Francisco, most told me that it is something "for the future," "it"s priced out of reach" or "the technology just isn"t there." The reality, however, is that consumers today can have total control of their home"s interior and exterior, whether they are inside their property or not. From lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), security systems, and home entertainment, to keeping an eye on kids as they arrive home from school, technologies are in place and at a reasonable cost.
